Dear Dr Daramola,
We had planned several times to meet to discuss a lot of issues. This was made impossible because of the challenges around our profession -  development work coupled with the additional concerns to free our people from "political bondage". What pained me most and that makes my heart to bleed is the fact that we would have discussed issues around security. What I am certain of is the fact you did your best and you have succeeded in leaving a good and unforgetable memory in the minds of people that came your way. Good night and stay blessed. Close

My encounter with him was once and very brief in Novemeber 2003 yet he left a lasting memory of a complete gentleman with great intellect. It is only God who can console the wife, children and other members of the family. May God use those good people left in the Police to fish out those behind this dastardly act. Dr. Ayo Daramola, You came , you saw and you conquered. The cowards were afraid to come to terms with your achievements in life hence they could only think about committing your life to the blosom hand of the Lord Almighty. Your name would forever be written in Gold in the minds of Ekiti People. The wife and children you left behind would not know pains as you have carried their sorrows away.
May the Lord almighty accept you in His hands while the perpetrators of this cowardly act would never know peace.

Rest in the Lord. Close

I met Dr Daramola for the first time in October 2005 in Kaduna during the State stakeholder's workshop on HIV/AIDS and said so much about my Husband - Dr Jide Ogunlayi. Since then we have been working together as development workers and associates. He related nicely to us and informed me of some of his work in Ekiti State and the decadence taking place in the state. He stressed the need for all to work together to revive the State.

He brought our children who are schooling at Olashore International School together and sent his prayers during my 40th birthday in May this year. I felt flattered with all his praises for me in his messages.

Hardly did I know that Dr Daramola will be leaving this cruel world when he insisted in taking photograph with me at the last stakeholder's review of HIV/AIDS response in Cross River State in June this year. A gentleman to the core and happy family Man - Sun re o... Ekiti has lost another committed GEM. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

I pray that God almighty in his infinite mercy be with his wife and children.

GOOD NIGHT TO DR. AYO DARAMOLA  / Ayo Arise
Though we never met but I figure you were a shining light to many as attested to by the many tributes pouring out from the hearts of people. You set out to make life easier and better for our people. May the perpetrators of this dastadly act and their families never know happiness and their lives will always be accompanied by misterious agony. They shall never know peace and they will be caught.

You will not die in vain as Ekiti people will remember you in due season. My heart bleeds for his family. May God console them. Sun re o.

Good nite Dr Ayo Daramola  / Femi Faweya (Proffesional Colleagues )
I was opprtuned to meet Dr Ayo Daramola in May 2006 during the technical review of the Lagos State HIV/AIDS strategic Plan held at the Lekki Peninsula Resort.

We worked together with others to develop strategies  to mobilize revenue to combat the scourge of HIV and AIDS for the Lagos State.

He was physicaly present throught out the 3 day work shop and contributed to all the discussions that went on. I was able to learn from his wealth of experience during this period. Despite the fact that he was the oldest amongst the team member, he was very humble. listened to others view.

At the end of the second day, I needed a ride back to town and he ensured that i had a ride to the doorstep of my home before heading back to the mainland not minding the hold up.

Dr Daramola, your Sun set too early, preventing you for using your knowledge for the Greater good.

May you gentle soul rest in peace.

Dr. Ayo Daramola, You have done well!!  / Sina Falana (Professional colleague and friend )

Dr. Ayo Daramola,
I remember very well at the Technical Review Meeting of the Lagos State AIDS Control Agency Strategic Plan at Lekki Pennisula Resort sometime in May 2006, you were very humble in sharing with me the burden in your heart for Ekiti Land.
Both of us discovered that we are from the same state and share same friends somehow. You respectfully and humbly asked for support to make real your vision. You followed this up with an e-mail to me in June as a reminder when I reckoned you were definitely convinced you had to run the race to the EKSGH in Ado Ekiti! Your plan was to invite me to your Gbadaga Home in Lagos...to talk more but that is now history!

Ayo, God knows best. At your death you became more popular than when you were alive. To God be the glory...it is will be very difficult for Ekiti to have another Dr. Ayo Daramola. You have left your footprints in the sand of time on mother earth!

I pray the Almighty God to uplift your immediate family members, your siblings during this trying period. Our prayers and thoughts are with them all both within and outside the shores of this nation.

Tell me not in mournful number, life is but an empty dream!!
Sleep well dearly beloved. God does not sleep nor slumber.
Sina Falana
